When you think of the bantamweight division of the elite MuayThai scene here in Bangkok, one name springs to mind when asking or telling anyone about a boxer who is currently at the top of the tree in this weight category.
That fighter is the one and only, Prajanchai, from PK Saenchai gym. He is a boxer who epitomizes heart, action and beautiful muay precision within the squared circle.
Prajanchai is contracted to OneSongchai promotions and is a former Rajadamnern stadium 112lb champion, a title which he won back in 2012. He is also a former Lumpinee stadium bantamweight (118lbs) champion. Prajanchai won that coveted strap by beating the champion at the time, none other than Panpayak, from Jitmuangnon gym.
The boxer formerly out of Luksuan gym has fought and beaten a who’s who of Muay superstars over the past five to six years.
Nowadays, Prajanchai is training out of PK Saenchai gym in Bangkok, a move he made a couple of years ago when his contract was bought out by the owner of PK.
Prajanchai’s next scheduled bout will see him face off against the formidable Morakot Komsaimai. For this bout, Prajanchai will give away a one pound advantage to Morakot. This might seem like an anomaly, but on occasions in the highly competitive world of the elite MuayThai circuit — sometimes having a pound or two weight cutting advantage can make all the difference.
Morakot is a highly experienced Rajadamnern stadium fighter, who is training for for this fight at the military camp in Baan Suan, in Chonburi province.
